I am so disappointed about the Wine Walk. Way back last spring I had noted in my calendar that the winter Wine Walk had been moved from December to November 18. As it got closer to November, I started searching online to try and find when the tickets would go on sale. There was nothing. I would check each week and there would be nothing. I finally noticed that the Christmas tree lighting was scheduled for November 18th so I concluded that Covina had decided to do only one Wine Walk per year since I thought combining a family event with a Wine Walk did not sound like a good idea. Therefore, I was so surprised to drive down Badillo on Monday the 13th and see a poster in the window of Branson Sash and Door advertising the Wine Walk and looking onlline found the ticket information for the Walk and that it was indeed on the same night as the tree lighting. Because of the late notice, there are 5 people that will not be attending this Walk. I hope advertising is better in the future.

      Hi Marilyn,

We’re sorry to hear that you and your friends won’t be coming. Our wine walk (and actually all events) are entirely dependent upon city regulations, licenses, and multiple participants. Because of this our dates are always tentative. We can’t have an event announced and then have the date changed, that would bother far too many people and can get confusing. The first thing we do to announce all of our events is to post on Facebook and Twitter. We know you’d rather hear about it 1-2 months ahead and we are working on making that happen. And we’re getting more proactive with announcements on Facebook and on our site so please do bear with us! If you want to be notified of the next event, check out our Facebook page. We’re also posting events and articles for things happening in Downtown that are organized by the city so that should help you (and others) in the future with planning. Lots of cool events are happening in the Downtown area so we hope to see you at the next one!
