Tasting Notes Summer 2024

Attems Pinot Grigio

A deep straw-yellow in appearance. Marked fragrances of ripe fruit, such as banana and peach, which harmonize appealingly with complex floral notes. On the palate the first impression is of a seductive suppleness; the wine then expands nicely, enlivened by a crisp, judicious acidity, and concludes with a lingering finish generously marked by fruity, clean-edged aromas.

 

Bodegas Shaya Arindo Verdejo Rueda 

This wine is juicy and ripe, with pineapple, pear and yellow apple fruit flavors that run through a mango notes. There is a balance here between the vivid structure and juicy texture, a mineral essence boosts the long finish.

 

Bivio Pinot Grigio

A crisp, light to medium-bodied Pinot Grigio that is full and rich. Elegantly balanced with fresh green apple, bright citrus and clean mineral flavors , with a hint of peach in the middle leading to a crisp, satisfying finish.

 

Carmenet Chardonnay

Its beautiful straw color and aromas of apple, banana, and vanilla immediately captivate the senses, inviting you to take a sip. Once on the palate, this wine delivers a delightful butterscotch and tropical fruit finish that leaves a lasting impression.

 

Carmenet Buttery Chardonnay

Carmenet (Car-men-ay) offers a rich, creamy wine profile with hints of toasty vanilla, butterscotch, and a touch of oak. Pairs perfectly with grilled chicken, pan seared halibut, creamy risotto or simply on its own. 

 

Carmenet Merlot

This wine  has hints of rich blackberries and currants. Gentle tannins and vanilla notes round out for an enjoyable, soft finish. Pairs perfectly with grilled meat, roasted vegetables, charcuterie, or simply on its own. Enjoy!

Domaine Bousquet

Dark violet color. On the nose, it presents intense aromas of blackberry with notes of red and blackcurrant and plum. The mouth highlights a note of ripe plums with soft and elegant tannins.

A fresh and lively expression, offering inviting floral cherry and raspberry notes, with loamy earth and spice details weaving in. Ends with a push of fresh acidity and a hint of singed orange peel.

 

Forrestville Pinot Grigio

This wine has strong flavors of honey and orange blossom. Green apple and hints of citrus fruits are revealed with each layer. With its crisp, smooth finish, this wine is perfect for any occasion. It pairs nicely with any type of fish dish as well as chicken dishes that are rich in flavor. This wine also pairs well with creamy cheeses.”

 

Caves de Fournalet - Cotes du Rhone Blend, FR

A  lighter body, with great clarity and a bright ruby color. On the nose aromas of blueberry, tart cherry and hints of tarragon.  The taste is very fruit forward with notes of sweet cherry, blueberry and cassis, that transitions to notes of peppery spice midpalate.  The tannins are soft, but still supportive of a nice, dry finish.

 

Haraszthy Petite Sirah

An immediately noticeable dark inky color typical of Petite Sirah greets our wine glass. Flavor and bouquet of blueberries, chocolate, and black pepper. Nicely balanced, dense tannin structure balanced against the jammy character of this wine. 85% Petite Sirah, 15% Zinfandel

 

Honoro Vera Jumilla Rose

A dry and medium-bodied rose wine that offers a pleasantly crisp acidity. It is both refreshing and easily approachable. On the palate, you will primarily taste red fruit and cherry flavors, complemented by hints of strawberries and watermelon. The finish of this wine is exceptionally smooth.

Honoro Vera Blanco

The Rueda vineyards are ideally suited for Verdejo. This region consists of sandy soils that are covered with alluvial pebbles. The result is elegant, quality white wines. The wine exudes intense aromas of white flowers and fresh fruit with exotic tropical notes infused with mouth-watering aromas of lemon curd. Beautifully focused and balanced on the palate with a lush mix of apple and pear.

 

Honor Vera Tempranillo

The grapes come from vineyards planted on limestone-rich clay soils. This distinctive wine is elegant, yet expressive, with ripe plum and fig flavors. The plush texture has good density, bright acidity, integrated tannins, and a spicy, long finish. Good density, bright acidity, integrated tannins, a spicy finish and a long finish.

 

Honoro Vera Irreverent Red

The grapes come from vines that are 30-40 years old, with yields of 2T/Ha and located high on the hillsides, 700-900 meters above sea level. This distinctive wine is delicate yet expressive, with ripe plum and fig flavors. The plush texture has good density, bright acidity, integrated tannins, a spicy finish and a long finish.

 

Honoro Vera Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine impresses with aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and a hint of tobacco. Its palate is bold and rich, featuring flavors of dark berries, espresso, and a touch of oak, leading to a long and memorable finish with firm tannins.

 

Honoro Vera Grenache

This wine comes from old vineyards at a high altitude of 1000-3000 ft above sea level. The vineyards are planted mainly in decomposed slate and gravely clay soils. Vines are dry farmed, without pesticides or herbicides. It is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged for 2 months in French oak barrels. Redcurrant and raspberry with silky tannins.

Montpellier Sauvignon Blanc

This wine is fruity and tropical, with a light body and high acidity. A go-to wine for herb-roasted chicken, warm goat cheese salad, asparagus risotto, and seared halibut

 

Murphy Goode Rose

This Rosé wine is fruity and vibrant with hints of refreshing minerality. Stainless steel tank fermentation allows the bright fruit character to shine through in this light-bodied rosé wine while the acidity keeps it tasting as fresh as the day it was pressed. Sourced from select California vineyards, 

 

Murphy Goode Chardonnay

Wonderfully complex with apple and pear flavors mingling with citrus and tropical fruits. Subtle oak spice complements the fresh fruit character. This is a user friendly Chardonnay that is at home at the dinner table or lounging with friends.

 

Murph Goode Red Blend

Kicks in with dark aromas of black cherries and blueberries while the first taste mixes things up with raspberries and Bing Cherries. The mouthfeel is rich yet soft and has a nice long finish that invites you to take a second sip.  Blend: 42% Syrah, 24% Zinfandel, 20% Petite Syrah, 11% Grenache, 3% Pinot Noir

 

Murphy Goode Rose

Stainless steel fermentation allows the bright fruit character to shine through while the acidity keeps this wine tasting as fresh as the day it was pressed. Enjoy our Rosé on warm days or cold nights, all year long.

 

Murphy Goode Fume Blanc

This Sauvignon Blanc is all about the fruit spectrum from citrus flavors through the tropical. Look for notes of tangerine, peach, pear, melon, and pineapple all brought together in a focused manner. This is the perfect wine to enjoy poolside.

 

Murph Goode Pinot Noir

From the marine-influenced vineyards of Sonoma County down to hills of the idyllic Santa Barbara. Cool conditions in these prime growing spots keep grapes at a perfect balance between vibrant dark fruit character and bright acidity. Notes of vanilla from aging in French and American oak add complexity to the intense black cherry aromas and flavors.

 

Murph Goode Merlot

This is no wimpy Merlot. We make this wine to please even the finickiest of Cab drinkers. Look for aromas and flavors of black cherry, blueberry, and blackberry all tied together with just a kiss of toasty vanilla.

 

Naked Earth Organic Chardonnay

A clean, pale gold color, accented by the Chardonnay in the wine. Floral and full on the nose, with scents of apricot and apple. Crisp upon entry, with the immediate notes of lemon and grapefruit, moving into more flavors like vanilla and hibiscus flowers, ends on a dry finish with gripping texture, coming from the wines’ generous minerality and balanced acidity.

 

O’Neill “Back House”  Chardonnay

This Chardonnay is fresh, crisp with great minerality. Flavors of exotic fruits, apple custard, and elegant, well-integrated oak. The vineyards are located in California's famous Central Coast region that extends from the South of San Francisco down to the Santa Barbara Highlands.

 

O’Neill “Back House”  Merlot

Dusty ruby color. Bright, buttery aromas and flavors of chocolate berries and spiced roasted nuts with a silky, bright, dry-yet-fruity light-to-medium body and a smooth, crisp strawberry and cherry jams on toast, toffee, and cedar finish with well-integrated, chewy tannins and light oak. 

 

O’Neill “Back House” Pinot Noir

Soft and elegant with crimson color and flavors of plump red berries and dark cherry on the palate. Savory dishes and roasted meats.

 

RSVP Methode Champenoise 

With a richly developed character produced by Methode Traditionelle, this wine is sourced from cooler coastal regions of California and is non-vintage, affording greater ability to achieve a desired style. The wine features soft bubbles and freshness that yields to creaminess from extended aging.

 

Silver Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon

A dry-yet-fruity medium bodied wine with aromas of pickling spices, creamy nougat, cedar, vanilla and berry tart it moves seamlessly to the palate with a silky rich flavor of black cherry, chocolate and toasted oak. This wine finishes with soft tannins and mineral accents.

 

Silver Ridge Pinot Noir

A medium bodied Pinot Noir with aromas of black cherry and raspberry, followed by a touch of clove and vanilla on the finish. Pair with Grilled Salmon, Chicken Marsala & Roasted Pork Loin.   92% Pinot Noir 8% Proprietor’s Blend

 

Villa Huesgen Riesling - Pale yellow, greenish shine, crisp apple, apricot, lime, slate, Jasmine, straw, passion fruit, in lesser extent fluffy memories of minerals, honey, potassium.  Works with the nose, hint of pear, almost frizzy, aftertaste bit Yeast/bread thing going on.
